The yellow St John's wort flower against the purple magenta leaves is so striking.
Clever post Laurie. Prince would be proud of you no matter your age. :) Love seeing all that purple and the water droplets from rain are a treat too.
Now you've got me longing for another Cercis 'Forest Pansy'. Purple foliage is my absolute favorite.
Delightful, both – the song and the shots.
I don't know what I like more...the rain or the purple leaves!
Love all the purple foliage! I need to add more of it to my garden. 'Alligator lizards in the air' sounds familiar but I distinctly remember sitting on my bedroom floor listening to Prince squeak out Purple Rain. If my pants were as tight as his, I'd squeak, too!
Those rain droplets look like jewels on your plants. Lovely.
I have no idea what song that is (I'm of the Prince era) but I do love the green veining highlighted by the purple. What plant is that?
Thanks to all for visiting and enjoying some purple rain.Marguerite, I'm not sure which photo you are referring to --- the first photo is redbud (Cercis 'Forest Pansy') the second is Hypericum 'Albury Purple' (St. Johnswort), and the third one is Canna 'Australia'. The last two are redbud again, and St. Johnswort again.
I'm a little too old for Prince, too:) All your purple foliage is lovely, but those raindrops look heavenly!
