Two Years Ago

http://abeautifulrevolution.com/

Two years ago I came across this cartoon of downcast, repentant weedflowers by doodler and daydreamer Andre Jordan of A Beautiful Revolution, and it tickled me.

Yes, I said . . . my own weeds have looked so sorry at times, and they always promise not to do those terrible things in my garden any more.

My weedflowers are so full of regret that sometimes I must forgive them.

It was two years ago on January 30, 2010 that I began this blog.

I have amused myself with it, have learned a lot, and continue to find more things to write about than I ever thought possible.

Thanks for reading.  And remember that your weeds don't really mean to annoy you so much.  They mostly can't help it.

(Margaret Roach features a doodle by Andre about gardening every week on her blog A Way to Garden.)

  2. This past year I have developed a greater appreciation for weeds. They still need to stop growing where I don't want them but we seem to have a kind of understanding now.
I am looking forward to another season spent working it out with them.
Good to see you again by the way! It's been awhile.

  3. I so thoroughly enjoy your writing. I have often wondered how you came to name your blog. Fun. I look forward to reading more. Congrats on your blogaversary. I think my weeds delight in annoying me. Some of them I even look forward to seeing, such as violets in the spring time. Cheers.

  4. I'm not sure I've ever caught my weeds looks sorry or regretful in anyway but maybe I'm just not observant enough. I didn't realize it'd been 2 years already!

  8. Happy Second (Blog) Birthday, Laurrie.
I have enjoyed reading your posts last year and will continue being a regular visitor here this year and hopefully for many more years to come.

Btw, the title of your blog was what really caught my eye and brought me here.

  9. Congratulations on reaching your 2-year mark, Laurrie. I've enjoyed peeking into your mind through your writings. I disagree with you, though, dear blogging friend ... my weeds do mean it. Some I allow to talk back continuously, others get sent to the woodshed ... err, I mean compost.

Sorry about requiring code verification -- I experimented with turning it off to make commenting easier, and I got too much spam. Thanks for taking the time to comment, and to type in silly codes. I appreciate hearing from you.
